Not really a post as such, just a quick gallery of images taken with the new X100VI in the first few days of owning it, wandering on the beach and walking between home and the studio.
First, a wet bank holiday morning.

All JPG from camera, slightly tweeked. I think mostly Reala Ace.
Then a few days ago, early morning BP (before people) on the beach (my favourite time).

I do love a good “groyne pic” (excuse the pun – even the spell check wanted to change it to groin).
Again all JPG Reala Ace but with some Acros(Y) thrown in. Edited in Lightroom.
The camera is set up at the moment in Aperture priority with the front dial setting the ISO and the rear dial exposure compensation (matching my X-H’s). Both JPG and RAW being recorded to the card.
With the two pier shots, I was exposing for the sky thinking I will use these shots to test the RAW’s. Before doing so I used the AI masking in Lightroom to raise the details of the pier a touch in the JPGS then I would have a comparison. I know it’s the same sensor as the H2 and therefore the same recovery will be available but I thought it was worth the test. I also thought it would be a test to see how DXO sharpened the images.
That was the first fail of the camera. This on the DXO website:

Actually means:

So I assume that text actually means it will be supported in May at some point.
.. Edit ..
10 minutes after writing this, I see there is an upgrade PureRAW 4… A quick check and no, this does not support them either… yet
Watch this space.
