The way I plan to structure this blog this year is to post twice a week, on Monday and Thursday (as I did in the past). The Monday post should always feature thoughts, reviews, comments, etc., while the Thursday post will be mainly just a quick gallery of images.
This is the first Thursday gallery.
Although I have posted a whole series of self portraits and my initial thoughts on the camera, the images below were actually the first I shot in anger on the GFX100R.
Shot on Worthing pier as the Starlings left thier overnight perch, the morning after the camera was delivered.
They were all shot at ISO 1600 in Aperture Priority at F4 and processed from the RAW files. I did have the AF-C enabled (not that it was really needed), bird subject tracking and the drive was set to the 2 FPS that it is capable of.
I am a Sussex based photographer providing imagery for the entertainment industry.
My working time is split fairly evenly between London and Sussex although I have worked all around the world; from Europe covering the BAFTA's, Glastonbury, Cannes and Berlin Film Festivals, to the USA covering The Oscars.
Passing knowledge & experience on is very important to me and so I am proud to say I have served on the Board of the British Press Photographers Association, helping to improve the image and practices of working press photographers. I educate by writing a widely read “technical” blog detailing my use of Fuji cameras and other equipment as well as giving talks about Press (and other aspects of) Photography to camera clubs and groups.
