An hour around Potsdammer Platz

As mentioned in my last post, I am now in Berlin, so it’s time for a little gallery from here.

Almost every blog I see that writes about Fuji cameras talks about recipes and presets. Well are you ready for a shock?

Up until now I have rarely used presets or recipes on these cameras, having worked how I always have, adjusting them as I go. I say until now.

For this festival I have pre-set a couple of working settings (based on last years lighting) for the two locations which I work at here. I have also added a couple of film recipes.

The following images were taken around Potsdammer Platz (an area I know well) between two photocalls on the first day. They are essentially straight out of camera (first X100 and then I moved on to the GFX) using a T-Max P3200 Recipe.

These first two images are from the X100 and have not been adjusted.

After taking these, and having a coffee, I switched to the GFX100RF.

The most I did to these was crop or, in some cases, adjust the white and black points (mainly on the wall images). The doorway had its perspective corrected.

One of the things I love about this city is the contrasts. The culture clashes. The contrasts between the old and the new, the East and the West.

Hopefully, Monday I will manage to write about how the recipies are working for me.

Until then ….
