What a difference a week makes! I am writing this (short) introduction to this gallery post in the garden, sipping on a coffee and nibbling hot hot cross buns. (Hows that for scene setting).
This week’s gallery is rather short. It’s purpose is to highlight the strength of the GFX100 sensors when it comes to high contrast images.
The following were all taken in London Cinemas of LED advertising (house-points to those who correctly identify the cinemas).
They are all shot on the GFX100RF at a fairly slow shutter speed, processed through PureRAW (5 in this case), then edited in Lightroom.
GFX100RF ISO 400 1/55 sec at f4.0 GFX100RF ISO 400 1/80 sec at f4.0GFX100RF ISO 400 1/60 sec at f4.0GFX100RF ISO 400 1/90 sec at f4.0
I used to shoot these on the X-H2 with the 16mm but now, with the GFX there is far more headroom in the files from the medium format sensor for editing, which are enhanced further by the use of PureRAW.
More words on Monday – lets hope the weather lasts 🙂
I am a Sussex based photographer providing imagery for the entertainment industry.
My working time is split fairly evenly between London and Sussex although I have worked all around the world; from Europe covering the BAFTA's, Glastonbury, Cannes and Berlin Film Festivals, to the USA covering The Oscars.
Passing knowledge & experience on is very important to me and so I am proud to say I have served on the Board of the British Press Photographers Association, helping to improve the image and practices of working press photographers. I educate by writing a widely read “technical” blog detailing my use of Fuji cameras and other equipment as well as giving talks about Press (and other aspects of) Photography to camera clubs and groups.
