My working time is split fairly evenly between London and Sussex although I have worked all around the world; from Europe covering the BAFTA's, Glastonbury, Cannes and Berlin Film Festivals, to the USA covering The Oscars. Passing knowledge & experience on is very important to me and so I am proud to say I have served on the Board of the British Press Photographers Association, helping to improve the image and practices of working press photographers. I educate by writing a widely read “technical” blog detailing my use of Fuji cameras and other equipment as well as giving talks about Press (and other aspects of) Photography to camera clubs and groups.

I had a full day of headshots running from 10:00 in the morning to 16:30 in the afternoon....

Just another sunrise

Although the cameras built into phones are quite brilliant and clever, as soon as you look at the images large on a calibrated photo monitor it becomes obvious how limited they are. ... Crouching down, I waited with the 14mm on the X-T3 which was set to underexpose using the Velvia film simulation to bring out the colours.

Editing to the Max

Recently I have been getting very frustrated with my 2018 MacBook-Pro. I say recently, actually it's been going on a while; I have never been that happy with the way it handled the external displays when editing in the office. Even with its Radeon Pro graphics and 16GB RAM is just really struggled in Lightroom Classic, imports and preview generation taking an age.
