Last post I mentioned I had purchased a Tourbox, about which I would write following its extensive use in Cannes.
This is not that post… that post will be next week. All I will say now is that the process of editing on a laptop using it is much smother.
Being Thursday (yes OK, I missed the Monday post), this post is a quick gallery of some of my work from the first week in Cannes (I arrived late, 2 days into the festival), outlining how a day could pan out as photographers criss-cross around Cannes heading to different events.
Most days start up on the roof of the Palais for photo-calls with the cast and crew from the films premiered the previous day.

Then it is probably back to the apartment to edit those images (and any that you have not managed to edit from previous days) before heading back out to another photo-call, probably at one of the (many) overly plush and ostentatious hotels.

Again, pop in to the apartment, more editing (lunching at the keyboard, probably on lovely local baked bread).
For me, then 3 of the days dictated my early evening was on one of the (even more ostentatious) yachts for some event photography. These can be really interesting, for example I was booked for the launch of a new completely Ai feature film – a really interesting event whatever one’s feelings are on the technology.

The day ends with more editing, but before that it’s probably time to dress for “Black Tie” (in my case, black blouse and trousers) for the Red Carpet.

There may even be a late night event, as there was for me on Sunday. Following the carpet I headed up the hill to the Caste for an awards event.

Obviously, not every day is like this but this just outlines the variation in work and timings. Quite often its not the “main event” that is the fun, it is what happens around them as this late attendee to the Red Carpet a few nights ago shows..

I’m looking forward to heading home, watching Arsenal lift the Premiership trophy on the telly box (there goes my readership) and then on Monday I will write about the Tourbox..
